Oak Lawn celebrates 4th of July with Parade

95th Street lined with lawn chairs, blankets and loyal parade-goers along with hundreds of children holding empty plastic buckets and bags eagerly watching for the parade to begin in hopes to collect as much candy as they could.

This was the scene on Saturday morning.

Despite all the rain the Chicago area has had over the past few weeks, the sunny warm temperatures brought out the crowd this weekend.

The Oak Lawn July 4th Parade which kicked off at 10 am from 51st ave and proceeded westbound several blocks featured local business’s, marching bands, street entertainers and of course  local politicians joining in the annual tradition of waving to the crowd and passing out goodies to the children.
